What Defines Me
Core Values
"I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect." - Romans 12:1-2

Faith
God is the reason that I am the young woman that I am today. Without Him I would be not have aspired to all that I have in my life such as forming a moral conscious, pursuing Theology & Religious Studies as a major, or even holding firm in decisions that I know to be right. Growing up in the Catholic faith meant that my life has been guided by the Ten Commandments, Beatitudes, and Church teachings. Throughout retreats, Mass, faith-based conversations, and my mother as my spiritual mentor - my love and faith in Jesus has only strengthened. From this is where I recieve not only my passion for leadership, but my gradititue for each day of life God has gifted me.
Empathy
Empathy is a core factor in how I approach relationships as it helps me to closely understand th person I am developing a connection with. The ability to hold humility in my heart and approach situations by placing myself in the other's perspective has helped me to promote positive social interactions. The saying "Walk a mile in my shoes" is something near and dear to my heart precisely because of the truth that saying holds. I believe that the value of empathy has helped me to not only foster deeper connections with those in my life but to also aspire for a society where all people can seek to be understood.

Human Dignity
Without a doubt I believe that each person is made in the image and likeness of God and therefore deserves to be treat with utmost dignity. The dignity of humanity is a Catholic social teaching principles that emphasizes the reality that we are all created in the likeness of God. Each individual has an inherent worth that no one is capable of taking away. Human dignity is freely given to all people, whether saints or sinners, incarcerated or granted liberty, privileged or marginalized. This has spurred me to desire to become an International Human Rights lawyer so that I may protect the individual soul. It is undeniable that each person should be respected and treated with love because they are loved.
Family
I love my family more than anything and because of this I have prioritized my family in all aspects of my life. Their support has made me who I am today as well as helped me to develop the skills necessary to lead, specifically by the excellent role model that is my mother. My sister is my best friend and has pushed me to be my best self because she honestly wishes for me to be. Without the close knit nature of my family, I would not have become my authentic self because I would not have been given the space to do so. Their encouragement has fueled my confidence in taking the steps to pursue my dreams and my future unapologetically.

Communication
With my time spent on sports teams, family dinners, customer service, and writing I have continuously strived to value genuine communication. Through experiences like Mock Trial, speaking opportunities, and leadership positions -- I have been able to polish my social skills so that I can effectively communicate with others. Communication is truly key in my life and in holding honest teamwork in various capacities. In an age of technology, the ability to properly communicate is essential to form strong connections, navigate conflict, and most of all: to be transparent in who I am and what I expect from others.
